Quantity Surveying & Construction Takeoff Services
In preparing your cost estimate, accuracy is our primary focus. I approach your estimate as a qualified builder and I start as I would onsite and look at each work section separately assessing the true labour and material cost.
Our full estimates include the cost of all materials, labor, subcontractors and other overheads, and they are presented in a clear and easy-to-understand format.
The process begins with you sending through your project details, plans, photos and specifications that you have for your project. This includes any architectural drawings, engineering plans, as well as any notes on finishes etc that you may have had with your client. The clearer and more detailed you can be with the information at this stage is crucial for an accurate pricing assessment.
As we progress through your estimate we will note any assumptions and exclusions that we have made if the detail is not clear. We will also note where further specialised quotes are recommended for greater accuracy are required.
Once you have had your quote accepted and you are underway it is more than likely the client will ask you to make changes. These can be easily managed as variations (VO’s) to your quote and we can assist with this either on an hourly rate basis or this service can be included as part of a package priced at the start of the process if you feel the client will want that flexibility to make changes as the project evolves
If you think what we offer is something that will help you please get in touch for a free, no-obligation quote.

This is the process of ‘building-up’ prices, or rates, for an item or piece of work considering all the parts and activities needed to put it together. This is based on “First Principles” methods of estimating.
The project cost would typically include:
Materials - including the Material supply, Quantities, Waste and Delivery costs. This also includes small items such as glue, nails, small tools, blades etc. They are minor, but are still costs worth considering when establishing a rate for a piece of work.
Labour - includes Labour costs based on your rates or rates for your location, productive time, non-productive labour using industry standard labour constants for each area of work
Plant - will identify and note any owned or hired equipment, machinery, scaffold, etc. as each of these items Items have a cost of their own, to keep and run, including the capital cost and finance, depreciation, wear and tear, repairs, replacements, and servicing, consumables like petrol, oil, etc, delivery, transport and sometimes they may need supervision or a specialist operator.
Overheads and profit - off-site and on-site costs such as administration, finance and incidentals well as your profit
